Newton carries some of the oldest housing stock in Surrey. Many homes here went up in the 1970s and 1980s, and their exterior walls are showing it. Mi Casa Exteriors is a siding contractor working across Newton, from the homes around Newton Athletic Park to the streets off King George Boulevard and 72 Ave. Our own crews handle repairs, full replacements, and everything between, backed by a 25-year workmanship warranty.
Three problems come up again and again in this part of the city.
Aging original siding. Vinyl and wood siding from the first build is often 40 years old or more. Panels crack, fade, and pull away from the wall.
Hidden wood rot. Homes from this era were built without rainscreens, which the BC Building Code only required in coastal areas from 2006 on. Decades of wet winters mean water has often reached the sheathing. Our wood rot repair service deals with what we find under the old siding.
Failed flashing and trim. Water gets in around windows and rooflines first. Small trim and flashing fixes now
Not every home here needs a full wrap. We do single-wall repairs, partial replacements for sun-damaged south walls, and complete re-sides. At the site visit we tell you which one your home actually needs. The quote is written and fixed, you pay zero deposit, and final payment waits until you are satisfied. Our siding contractor services page covers the full list of what our crews take on.
Our shop is on 65 Ave in Surrey, a short drive up King George Boulevard from Newton. Every job is done by in-house crews, never subcontractors. The 25-year workmanship warranty is signed by the company and by the installer. We hold WorkSafeBC clearance C136733062, carry 2 million dollars in liability coverage, and are BBB accredited.
Yes. Homes of that age are most of what we see here. Note that homes built before 1990 need a hazardous materials survey before any tear-off, which WorkSafeBC requires. We build that step into the quote.
Yes. We do single-wall and partial siding work when the rest of the home is sound. We will not push a full replacement your home does not need.
Yes. Vinyl siding is a common local choice, and we also install fiber cement, engineered wood, and cedar.
